Shuttle is a death trap, says astronaut

ONE OF America's most experienced astronauts has denounced the space shuttle as a death trap and accused U.S. space officials of stifling all concerns raised about its safety.The revelation comes as America prepares to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Challenger disaster.Seven astronauts were killed on 28 January 1986, when their shuttle exploded 73 seconds after take-off.Veteran astronaut Mike Mullane's outburst therefore comes at a deeply embarrassing time for Nasa. Apart from dealing with the Challenger anniversary, it is now struggling to save its remaining space shuttles so they can complete the international space station.

However, all three are still grounded because engineers have not yet fixed insulation problems that doomed Challenger's sister craft, Columbia, in 2003."It's the most dangerous manned spacecraft ever flown," said Mullane, who took part on three shuttle missions before retiring in 1990.

Led by South Africa, which already has more than 500 call centers serving companies such as Lufthansa and General Electric Co. in English, Dutch, and other languages, other countries on the continent are jumping on the bandwagon. Cairo-based Xceed Contact Center handles calls in Arabic and European languages for Microsoft, General Motors, Oracle, and Carrefour. The latest hopeful is which is promoting English skills, a strong bond rating, tax breaks, and subsidies for training to attract call centers...

An explosion of captalism has given cities like Shangai and Beijing futeristic skylines.Big bussiness and consumer technology alike have found a new home here.Mobile phones and camareas have become must haves-everywhere you go,people are talking ,texting,and surfing.The country is the world's largest producer of mobile phones,PC's and camears ,which it can churn out in their resource --people.
It is worth taking a minute to look at the statistics, because they are truly amazing. China is the world's most populous country, with 1.3 billion people.On size alone, it is fast becoming a technology superpower and it almost has no choice in the matter. For example, even though only 8% of its people have access to the internet, this equates to 100 million people online, second only to the US.
China is dotted with rabbit warrens of small electronics boutiques, selling everything from known brands to home-made kit, multi-coloured CDs to 2GB memory cards. No-one can accuse the Chinese of being behind the times.It will come as little surprise that China is now the world's largest cell phone market, with more than 380 million mobiles. And, just like internet penetration, the number is rising at an impressive rate.But perhaps here, more than in most countries, phones have an added value.
